Now I have become Death.

This quote from Robert Oppenheimer, inspired by the Hindu scripture the Bhagavad-Gita, encapsulates the spirit of the modern age. We are in a period of extinction, where 250 years of unrestrained capitalism have brought us to the edge of ruin. Oppenheimer was incorrect; it is not the atomic bomb that endangers our existence today, but climate change. Yet, we continue to produce, consume, and live as if everything is fine. This series stands as a reflection on an era marked by abundance and convenience, coal driven and  consumerist. Theses proud cooling towers, standing tall over the last coal fired station in the UK, are symbol of a lifestyle that is quickly falling apart.
